गुरु गोविन्द दोऊ खड़े, काके लागूं पाए।
बलिहारी गुरु आपने, गोविन्द दियो बताय ।।
हिन्दी में अनुवाद या अर्थ-
कबीर दास जी ने इस दोहे में गुरु और भगवान की तुलना करमे हुए गुरू की महिमा का वर्णन किया है। वे कहते हैं कि जीवन में कभी ऐसी परिस्थिति आ जाये की जब गुरु और भगवान (ईश्वर) में से किसी एक को सर्वप्रथम चुनना पड़े तब पहले किन्हें प्रणाम करना चाहिए। कबीर दास जी कहते है कि गुरु ने ही हमे भगवान से हमारा परिचय कराया है इसलिए गुरु का स्थान भगवान से भी ऊँचा है। अतः हमे गुरू को ही सर्वप्रथम प्रणाम करना चाहिए ।

Meaning-
Kabir Das ji has described the glory of Guru in this couplet by comparing Guru and God. They say that at some point in life such a situation comes that when one has to choose between Guru and God (Govind) first, then who should be bowed down first. Kabir Das ji says that Guru has introduced us to God, so the place of Guru is higher than God. Therefore, we should worship the Guru first.
