सब धरती काजग करू, लेखनी सब वनराय।
सात समुद्र की मसि करूँ, गुरु गुण लिखा न जाए ।
हिन्दी अनुवाद (अर्थ) –
गुरु सर्वश्रेष्ठ एवं महान है, धरती के सभी कागजों को एकत्रित करके, वन के सभी वृक्षों की लकड़ी को एकत्रित करके और सभीं समुद्रों के पानी की स्याही बना ली जाय तब भी वे कागज, और स्याही कम पड़ेगी गुरु महिमा को लिखने में, यह महिमा है गुरु की। इस दोहे में के माध्यम से कबीरदास ने बताया है की गुरु की महिमा कितनी अधिक एवं आवश्यक है। गुरु की महिमा का वर्णन शब्दों में करना मुश्किल है।
