अर्थ – जिस इंसान अंदर दूसरों के प्रति प्रेम की भावना नहीं है वो इंसान पशु के समान है। जिस मनुष्य के ह्मदय में प्रेम की भावना नहीं है, उसका ह्मदय श्मशान के सापेक्ष सूना है और वह स्वयं जीते जी मृतक समान है। जिस प्रकार लोहार की धोंकनी निर्जीव खाल होने पर भी साँस लेती है। वैसे ही प्रेम से हीन मनुष्य भी देखने में निस्सन्देह साँस लेता, चलता फिरता और काम काज करता दिखायी देता है; किन्तु सत्य में वह मृतक ही है।
